About Me

I am a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Tennessee. I provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults. I have extensive training in both cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, and I provide psychotherapy to individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), interpersonal/relationship stressors, loss and grief, and a wide range of traumatic experiences, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Because each client comes with a unique history and individualized struggles, I tailor treatment to meet the specific needs and to highlight the strengths of every individual with whom I work. When determining the course of treatment, I first conduct a thorough evaluation of my client’s current problems and areas of their functioning that are affected, while also taking into consideration the individual’s past experiences and goals for treatment. I place great emphasis on creating a warm and supportive therapeutic space to explore my client’s problems—with the aim of developing new skills, fostering positive change, and increasing overall satisfaction and well-being.

With regard to my educational background, I have obtained a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University (LIU) – Post in Brookville, NY–where I also worked as an adjunct professor teaching psychology. At LIU, I received specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy. I’m also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have been impacted by trauma.

My breadth of clinical experience is reflected in the diverse settings in which I have worked. As the founder and clinical director of Northeast Psychological Wellness, a group private practice that is committed to increasing access to quality mental health services, I provide teletherapy to clients with a wide range of presenting problems. I also supervise and train therapists who are in the beginning stages of their career. I previously worked as a clinical psychologist at Northwell Health Physicians Partners CBT practice providing short-term, evidence-based treatment to adults and adolescents. During my previous training at the Child Mind Institute in New York City, I worked extensively with children and adolescents diagnosed with a range of anxiety and mood disorders. At the Child Mind Institute, I successfully treated a numerous children who had severe selective mutism, social anxiety, depression, and disruptive behavioral problems. My other clinical experience at MercyFirst, a residential treatment center in Syosset, NY, afforded me the opportunity to work with adolescents who struggled with emotional and behavioral problems. At MercyFirst, I provided individual and group therapy and conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations of my clients. My skills in connecting with adolescent clients who were often resistant to receiving help from other providers often led to successful clinical outcomes. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Community Health Center in Stamford, Connecticut, providing individual and group therapy mainly to adult clients who presented with a range of emotional problems, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction issues.
